Zoos and Botanical Gardens

A zoo is a place in which animals are housed within enclosures, displayed to visitors, and where they may also breed. The first known use of the term 'zoo' is widely acknowledged to be at the London Zoo which opened in 1826.

A botanical garden is dedicated to the collection, cultivation, preservation and display of a wide range of plants. Visitor services at a botanical garden might include tours, educational displays, art exhibitions, book rooms, open-air theatrical and musical performances, and other entertainment.
