Chefs direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods for restaurants, hotels, and other establishments that sell food. Depending on the establishment and the level of the chef, they may plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts. The food and hospitality industry has grown hugely in recent years, and chefs are more in vogue than ever before.
