Information Architect

About

An information Architect (sometimes just known as an 'IA') plans and designs the structure of information for websites and web applications. Their goal is to provide users with a positive experience while ensuring data and information is complete, detailed and well-structured.

They're often part-scientist, part-creative: translating user behavior into media structure and elements; crafting interactive experiences; producing workflow diagrams, user scenarios, flowcharts, and storyboards; working with databases and analyzing information. An Information Architect can be found working in a wide range of companies and industries: from web design agencies and creative studios; to government, transportation, and financial services.
